Ski and Snowboard Australia have recently released the Selection and Nomination Criteria for the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, Switzerland. The full criteria is available here on the SSA website:
Regarding Cross Country Skiing, ranking of athletes for the nomination will be determined by a SSA Selection Panel based primarily on results in the 2019 Australian Junior Team selection races, which are as follows:
- Australian Open Freestyle Sprint, Perisher, August 17
- Australian Open Classic 5/10km, Perisher, August 18
- Australian Junior Classic Sprint, Falls Creek, August 31
- Australian Junior Freestyle 5/7.5km, Falls Creek, September 1
The number of quota places will not be finalised until December 9, however it is likely that Australia will have at minimum one male and one female quota place. Full information on the quota allocation is outlined in the FIS Qualification Systems that are linked on the SSA information page.
